Amano Shrimp (Caridina Multidentata)

Discovered by Takashi Amano, the Amano shrimp was found to be a brilliant cleaner of algae and has saved many aquascapes. This shrimp is known as the Yamato Shrimp or Japonica, Referring to its heritage to Japan. Our Amanos range in size from 4cm - 6cm, max is around 6cm fully grown. They very hardy shrimp and easy to keep!


Recommended Water parameters:  Fresh Water | 19-24˚C Degrees | PH Range 6.5 - 8.0 | Ammonia 0ppm | Nitrite 0ppm | Nitrate Below 20ppm

Our Tank Water parameters: Fresh Water | 19-24˚C Degrees | PH Range 7.2 - 7.6


Tank Mate Compatibility : Suitable with most fish, their large size means they cannot be eaten or pestered. We would advise not keeping with anything too big or aggressive. 


Feeding : You can feed your shrimp algae flakes, blanched vegetables, and all types of foods. Feed sparingly, Shrimp will feed off natural fauna and algae. We sell a range of foods, which are great for shrimp!

Live Goods are dispatched on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays.

Your order is heavily insulated to ensure your livestock is kept warm throughout its journey. Our boxes contain a heat pad during the winter period, its environmentally friendly and can be disposed of!

It can be very upsetting to find that your new inhabitants have perished or are missing from their journey. In the event of this happening we will either refund you or arrange a replacement within 24 hours of reporting the issue to us. 

Don't open the bag straight away, take as many photos as possible and get in contact! We may ask you for additional photos of the perished items, so please don't throw them away.
